Christian Resources
In 2006 we were nominated for and won the title of Small Retailer of the Year 2007. This was a description of the shop at that time:
Christian Resource Centre run in the same premises as a Fair Trade Centre. A wide selection of Christian literature, including Bibles, biographies, fiction, Sunday school and youth resources, school assemblies books, bible study books, commentaries and dictionaries, gift books, magazines, children’s fiction, activity books, and board books. Christian C.D.’s, cassettes and gifts are also on offer. We also have a selection of Welsh language Bibles, magazines, adult and children’s books and resources.
Beacon Books holds a wide range of up to date stock, staff are on hand to assist where necessary. If we haven’t got a title we will do our best to find it. Delivery of many orders can be received the following day. A coffee bar is available to allow customers to take their time and browse whilst having a drink and a children’s play area is also available to keep small children occupied whilst Mum and Dad browse. We generally run Lion and Candle promotions when available, offering 3 for 2 offers to make the pennies go further! We hold a Resource evening during October, opening the shop up to local schools and Sunday schools, for their teachers to come and look at and order material available to them. We also take books to local school/church events. We have got to know those customers involved with children’s work in churches and are able to offer prizes for attendance. We offer a regular ordering service for such things as Christian magazines and Bible reading notes.
